Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s Leinster House team were asked to respond to a food and medical supplies appeal from the Filipino community of Ireland, for all those affected by Typhoon Haiyan which rocked the eastern part of the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the organisers of the appeal visited Leinster House to receive the supplies, Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s Foreign Affairs spokesperson said:<\/p>\n

\u201cFirstly I want to congratulate the Filipino community in Ireland for the pro-active approach in getting help and aid to all of their fellow Filipino\u2019s who were rocked by this devastating Typhoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe donations we gather for this appeal were a token of Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s solidarity with those affected by this natural disaster.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany Philippine nationals have made Ireland their home and do vital work, particularly in the caring professions in hospitals and nursing homes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
