Gaza Crisis Needs D\u00e1il Recalled For Debate – Crowe<\/p>\n
Sinn F\u00e9in’s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Se\u00e1n Crowe, has said there is no conceivable reason why the D\u00e1il shouldn\u2019t be recalled after the Seanad debated the crisis in Gaza today.<\/p>\n
Deputy Se\u00e1n Crowe said:<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople all over this island are marching in their thousands to protest against Israel\u2019s deadly assault on Gaza. At this stage not even children and their refugee families sheltering in United Nations compounds are safe.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Seanad was recalled to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and listen to the Irish states response from the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Following todays two hour debate I can see no conceivable reason why the D\u00e1il should not be recalled to discuss this on-going humanaitarian crisis.<\/p>\n
\u201cI attended today\u2019s debate in the Seanad but obviously as a non member and had to sit silently in the visitors\u2019 gallery.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs I was democratically elected to the Irish Parliament by the people of Dublin South West, and as Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, I want to represent all my constituents including all Sinn F\u00e9in voters in debating this issue with the Minister. Surely that’s what democracy is all about<\/p>\n
