{"id":1840,"date":"2014-09-05T15:06:03","date_gmt":"2014-09-05T15:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/?p=1840"},"modified":"2014-09-05T15:06:03","modified_gmt":"2014-09-05T15:06:03","slug":"crowe-welcomes-ceasefire-in-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/crowe-welcomes-ceasefire-in-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Crowe welcomes ceasefire in Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Se\u00e1n Crowe TD, has welcomed the news that the Ukrainian Government and eastern rebels have signed a ceasefire agreement, which now enters into immediate effect. <\/p>\n<p>Deputy Se\u00e1n Crowe said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cReading through media and other reports I understand that this is a preliminary truce and there is a lot more to be negotiated before there is a comprehensive peace deal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever this is a very important first step and I warmly welcome the potential this now opens up for real peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe onus is now on all sides to abide by this ceasefire agreement and work towards achieving a lasting peace process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe east of Ukraine has been heavily affected by the conflict. There is a shortage of food, clothing, electricity, and clean water in many areas, with vital infrastructure having been destroyed.
