From 1905 to the present  day Sinn F\u00e9in has been central to the struggle for Irish independence  and the republican ideals of Liberty , Equality and Fraternity. Meath  Sinn F\u00e9in has a proud history dating back to the election of our first  TDs in the county, \u00c9amonn Duggan and the famed revolutionary Liam  Mellows who were both elected in 1918.<\/p>\n<p>Sinn F\u00e9in has since grown  to become the 3rd largest party in Ireland and the 3rd largest in Meath.  Meath Sinn F\u00e9in is synonymous with energetic campaigning Cumainn and  dedicated elected representatives who are recognised for their community  focus.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve our goals Sinn F\u00e9in must grow and build  further. The 2009 Local and European Elections offers Meath Sinn F\u00e9in an  opportunity to develop and build through out the county. Why not join  us and play your part in the creation of an all-Ireland republic worthy  of all the people of Ireland !<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>What is Sinn F\u00e9in?<\/h3>\n<div class=\"img_caption right\" style=\"float: right; width: 180px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"http:\/\/meathsinnfein.ie\/images\/Proclamation72dpi.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"proclamation\" width=\"180\" height=\"232\" align=\"right\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Sinn  F\u00e9in is the fastest-growing political party in Ireland. It is a  republican and\u00a0 labour party, taking its inspiration from the politics  of Wolfe Tone, James Connolly and the 1916 Easter Rising. <\/p>\n<p>Sinn  F\u00e9in, the only all-Ireland party, is committed to achieving a 32-County  democratic socialist republic and the end of British rule in Ireland. <br \/>Sinn F\u00e9in is nationalist and internationalist. It is anti-imperialist, anti-fascist and anti-racist. <\/p>\n<p>Sinn  F\u00e9in, a fresh alternative to the stale politics, corruption and  mismanagement of the Establishment parties, is committed to achieving  real change in Irish society. Sinn F\u00e9in is working to bring about an end  to the sectarian Six-County state. <\/p>\n<p>Organised throughout the 32  Counties, it is a radical, campaigning, activist party. It is dedicated  to achieving a society free from prejudice and discrimination, and\u00a0  providing justice and equal opportunity for all in an independent  Ireland. <\/p>\n<p>Sinn F\u00e9in has a well-earned reputation for hard work, honesty and integrity. <\/p>\n<p>If  you want to make a lasting and worthwhile contribution to building a  better future for all, then Sinn F\u00e9in is the party for you.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Party Structure<\/h2>\n<h3>How is Sinn F\u00e9in organised?<\/h3>\n<p>Sinn  F\u00e9in is organised throughout the 32 Counties of Ireland. Anyone who  lives in Ireland and is aged 16 or over can apply to be a member of the  party. The Sinn F\u00e9in structure is:-<\/p>\n<h3>Cumann (Local or Workplace Branch)<\/h3>\n<p>The  cumann is the most important part of Sinn F\u00e9in because it is the most  visible and active republican presence in any community. <br \/>A cumann  must consist of no fewer than five people and a recommended maximum of  20. It can be organised in a workplace, college, university, village,  town or city. <br \/>Members of a cumann elect delegates to the comhairle  ceantair, the c\u00faige, and the party&#8217;s annual Ard Fheis (National Delegate  Conference). <br \/>Cumann members carry out a regular programme of activity on a wide range of social, economic and political issues. <br \/>The  core aims of Sinn F\u00e9in cumainn are to mobilise and help empower  communities and build popular support for the party by articulating and  implementing republican policies.<\/p>\n<h3>Comhairle Ceantair (District Executive)<\/h3>\n<p>The  Comhairle Ceantair is based on county electoral areas and provides a  resource as well as direction to all cumainn in its area. The Comhairle  Ceantair oversees party organisation, fund-raising and local election  campaigns and\u00a0 initiatives.<\/p>\n<h3>C\u00faige (Regional Executive)<\/h3>\n<p>Sinn  F\u00e9in c\u00faigi are based on the five European Union electoral  constituencies in Ireland &#8211; Dublin, Leinster, Munster, Connacht\/Ulster,  the Six Counties. It organises, publicises, develops and co-ordinates  Sinn F\u00e9in activities in its region. <br \/>It is made up of an officer board elected from among the delegates nominated by the region&#8217;s comhairl\u00ed ceantair and cumainn.<\/p>\n<h3>Coiste Seasta (Standing Committee)<\/h3>\n<p>The Coiste Seasta meets every week to ten days to oversee the day-to-day running of Sinn F\u00e9in. <br \/>It is an eight-member body nominated by the Ard Chomhairle and also includes the chairperson of each c\u00faige.<\/p>\n<h3>Ard Chomhairle (National Executive)<\/h3>\n<p>The  Ard Chomhairle meets at least once a month. It directs the overall  implementation of Sinn F\u00e9in policy and activities of the party. The Ard  Chomhairle also oversees the operation of various departments of Sinn  F\u00e9in:- <br \/>\u2022 Administration <br \/>\u2022 Finance <br \/>\u2022 National Organiser <br \/>\u2022 Campaigns <br \/>\u2022 \u00d3gra Shinn F\u00e9in <br \/>\u2022 Women&#8217;s Forum <br \/>\u2022 Culture <br \/>\u2022 Publicity <br \/>\u2022 International Affairs <br \/>It  is made up of the following: Officer Board and nine other members, all  of whom are elected by delegates to the Ard Fheis, 15 representing the  five C\u00faige regions (three delegates each). The Ard Chomhairle can co-opt  eight members for specific posts and additional members can be  co-opted, if necessary, to ensure that at least 30 per cent of Ard  Chomhairle members are women.<\/p>\n<h3>Ard Fheis (National Delegate Conference)<\/h3>\n<p>The  Ard Fheis is the ultimate policy-making body of Sinn F\u00e9in where  delegates \u2014 directly elected by members of cumainn \u2014 can decide on and  implement policy.
