{"id":201,"date":"2010-08-09T10:42:32","date_gmt":"2010-08-09T10:42:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/tallaght-dole-queue-grows-by-more-than-500-in-july\/"},"modified":"2010-08-09T10:42:32","modified_gmt":"2010-08-09T10:42:32","slug":"tallaght-dole-queue-grows-by-more-than-500-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/tallaght-dole-queue-grows-by-more-than-500-in-july\/","title":{"rendered":"Tallaght dole queue grows by more than 500 in July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cClearly we have a problem with unemployment black-spots and the Government needs to bring forward a specific strategy, as part of an overall job creation strategy, to tackle these areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTallaght has seen its fair share of job losses over the past couple of years with the loss of companies such as APW, Packard, Gallaghers, Jacobs, Sujitsu and now we are possibly facing the threat of further possible job losses at the CityWest Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has been little or no effort from Government to replace these jobs or to provide training for those who lost their jobs and to adapt to new emerging industries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly, if we could make a concerted effort to stem the loss of jobs in unemployment black-spots throughout the state then this would go a long way to stemming the national figures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tide of emigration is masking the true extent of the jobs crisis in this state and the Government is shamefully turning a blind eye to this.\u00a0 Exporting our young people is not the way to tackle unemployment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJobs can be created.\u00a0 Solutions exist.\u00a0 The government needs to take immediate actions now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSinn F\u00e9in has put forward a comprehensive set of costed proposals to retain and create jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have concrete proposals that can reverse these jobs losses and give the growing number of unemployed access to real jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese include:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u20ac500 million youth jobs fund to create 20,000 new entrepreneur and business jobs.Create jobs through essential construction\u2013 hospitals, schools, public transport networks and roll-out of broadband.A new green technology body \u2013 Eolas Gl\u00e1s \u00c9ireann \u2013 for research, promotion and funding of green energy and environmental technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Introduce specific job-creation strategies in agri-food, tourism, digital media and IT.<\/li>\n<li>\u20ac600 million job retention fund to subsidise workers in struggling small and medium businesses \u2013 potential to save 96,000 jobs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cOur full job creation proposals can be accessed at www.sinnfein.ie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBehind today\u2019s latest figures are 507 individuals and families in crisis with no real chance of any new employment prospects for the immediate future.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sinn F\u00e9in Councillor Se\u00e1n Crowe has called on the Government to produce a specific plan to tackle unemployment black-spots after Tallaght\u2019s unemployment figure jumped by more than 500 in July to 11,169.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Crowe said this is one of the highest increases in unemployment throughout the state with only Cork City, Limerick City and Galway City recording higher jumps.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking today at a protest outside the Tallaght Social Welfare Office Councillor Crowe said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state-wide unemployment figure rose by 8,500 during July.\u00a0 Of that 8,500, 507 were in Tallaght alone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-201","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/201","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=201"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/201\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=201"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=201"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=201"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
