Sinn F\u00e9in TD, and member of the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement, Se\u00e1n Crowe, today attended the commemoration for the 41st Anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan Bombings.<\/p>\n
Deputy Crowe said:<\/p>\n
\n“I want to commend Justice for the Forgotten for all the work they have\u00a0 carried out and the vital support\u00a0they give to the victims and families of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings.<\/p>\n
“We know that the Dublin and Monaghan bombings\u00a0 were carried out by loyalists with logistical and technical support from British security personnel.<\/p>\n
The no warning bombs\u00a0resulted in the highest amount of\u00a0deaths and casualities in the conflict and yet no one has been brought to justice.<\/p>\n
“As the years have passed the\u00a0work and\u00a0 the investigations by a handful\u00a0of journalists continued to uncover\u00a0 strong evidence of collusion between those who carried out the attacks and the British security services.<\/p>\n
“The British Government maintains its public position of denial and continues to refuses to release any files or information they have on these brutal bombings.<\/p>\n
“On this the 41st Anniversary of the death and carnage that visited Dublin and Monaghan, I again call on the British Government to release these files and to assist the familes in ensuring that justice is pursued and delivered.<\/p>\n
“Next week I will again\u00a0be raising this issue with the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs in the D\u00e1il and calling on the\u00a0 Government to place the upmost pressure on the new British Administration to release their\u00a0 files on Dublin and Monaghan.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
