Speaking after attending a meeting of the Sinn F\u00e9in Oireachtas team,<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

together with party president Gerry Adams, D\u00e1il leader Caoimhgh\u00edn \u00d3<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Caol\u00e1in and a number of the party\u2019s candidates in key constituencies in<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

the next General Election, Councillor Se\u00e1n Crowe said a credible<\/span> <\/span>recovery plan rather than an EU bail-out is required to save the Irish<\/span> <\/span>economy.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Councillor Crowe said:<\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis economic crisis, brought on by the policies of the Fianna<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

F\u00e1il\/Green Government and its predecessors, is worsening on a daily<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

basis. The Government has put out economic sovereignty on the line and<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

the people in hock to international money-lenders.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do not need an EU bail-out. \u00a0That will only further indebt us.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>\u201cWhat we do need is a credible recovery plan \u2013 credible both nationally<\/span><\/p>\n

and internationally. This requires the abandonment of the Government\u2019s<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

disastrous banking policy and the removal from office of the Government<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>\u201cWe need a General Election as soon as possible and at all costs we must try to prevent the passing of the threatened slash-and-burn Budget which will deepen the recession.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSinn F\u00e9in has put forward a credible recovery plan based on providing<\/span><\/p>\n

stimulus for jobs, revenue saving and raising and protection of vital<\/span><\/p>\n

public services and social supports. Others, such as the ICTU, have made similar proposals.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Government is about to publish and attempt to implement a four-year plan for which it has no mandate and can have no mandate. Let it publish the plan but then let it dissolve the D\u00e1il and call a General Election and let the people decide.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSinn F\u00e9in is ready for that contest and today we met to place our<\/span><\/p>\n

organisation in key constituencies on an election footing.\u201d ENDS<\/span><\/p>\n
