{"id":247,"date":"2011-03-31T20:49:59","date_gmt":"2011-03-31T20:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/worrying-trend-developing-in-tallaght-live-register-figures-crowe\/"},"modified":"2011-03-31T20:49:59","modified_gmt":"2011-03-31T20:49:59","slug":"worrying-trend-developing-in-tallaght-live-register-figures-crowe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/worrying-trend-developing-in-tallaght-live-register-figures-crowe\/","title":{"rendered":"Worrying trend developing in Tallaght Live Register figures \u2013 Crowe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><strong><em>Worrying trend developing in Tallaght Live Register figures \u2013 Crowe<\/em><\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s Dublin South West TD, Se\u00e1n Crowe, has said that there is a worrying trend developing in the Tallaght Live Register figures.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Deputy Crowe made his comments after CSO figures revealed that the number of people signing on nationally rose by 1,100.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Deputy Crowe said:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u201cUnemployment in this state has reached crisis point.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u201cSince the election over 1,000 people nationally have signed on. The increase here in Tallaght, although small does indicate a worrying trend in unemployment figures and it shows that action has not yet been taken.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u201cThe increase in unemployment and those signing on is a national emergency that warrants swift, decisive Government action. What we have got instead is a promise of a Jobs plan and budget after the first 100 days. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u201cGiven that ESRI figures state that 50,000 people will emigrate this year, that means that roughly 13,000 people will emigrate while they are waiting for the new government to publish their plan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u201cIn our pre-election proposals, we in Sinn F\u00e9in put forward a document entitled <em>Let\u2019s Get Dublin Working <\/em>which, if implemented, would create 50,000 jobs in Dublin while at the same time retaining a further 45,000. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u201cThis document included proposals to support local businesses and entrepreneurs, a <em>\u2018Jobs not Dole\u2019<\/em> fund to support struggling small businesses, schemes to boost tourism through the development of cultural and historic quarters as well as developing a much needed labour intensive essential infrastructure programme. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u201cPeople cannot wait any longer for Government intervention.
