Dublin South West Sinn F\u00e9in TD, Se\u00e1n Crowe, has submitted a D\u00e1il motion on the Dublin and Monaghan bombings which is on the Order Paper of today\u2019s sitting of the D\u00e1il, which is on the 42nd Anniversary of the bombings.<\/p>\n
Deputy Crowe said:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know that the Dublin and Monaghan bombings were carried out by loyalists with logistical and technical support from British security personnel.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe co-ordinated no warning bombings resulted in the highest amount of deaths and casualties in the conflict and yet no one has ever been brought to justice.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to commend Justice for the Forgotten for all the work they have carried out and the vital support they give to many of the victims of the conflict, including the families of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 2008 and 2011 the D\u00e1il unanimously passed motions on the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, which called on the British Government to release any relevant files that they hold on these bombings and for the Irish Government to press the British Government to comply with this reasonable request.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe British Government maintains its public position of denial and continues to refuse to release any files or information they have on these attacks on civilians, which killed 34 people including an unborn child, and injured almost 300.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe it is important that the 32nd D\u00e1il passes a similar motion and I have submitted a motion to this affect to be included on the Order Paper for the D\u00e1il sitting today, Tuesday 17 May 2016, which is the 42nd Anniversary of the bombings.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery Sinn F\u00e9in TD has signed the motion and I have also emailed the motion to every TD requesting that TDs of every party and none sign this important motion, and many have already done so.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
