Dublin South West Sinn F\u00e9in TD, Se\u00e1n Crowe, has called on voters in the 6 Counties to Vote Remain as part of the European Union on 23 June.<\/p>\n
Crowe, who is also a member of the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement Committee, has said that a vote to leave would be bad for communities and bad for Irish unity.<\/p>\n
Deputy Se\u00e1n Crowe said:<\/p>\n
\u201cAs an Irish Republican my primary concern is the adverse impact this proposed Brexit will have on the whole island of Ireland.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf a vote to leave was returned it would inevitably lead to customs and immigration checkpoints being re-established on the border. This would be a significant setback for the political process in the North.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would likely undermine the protection of human rights and workers\u2019 rights. It would also be a significant move away from building an all-Ireland economy, an all-Ireland tourist destination, an improved all-Ireland transport structure, and an all-Ireland approach to agriculture and food production.<\/p>\n
\u201cSinn F\u00e9in is an all-Ireland party committed to Irish unity. We don\u2019t want just part of Ireland in the EU. We are the only party with MEPs elected in each of the four European constituencies in Ireland. We speak with one voice, an all-Ireland voice and perspective, within the EU.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that the\u00a0EU\u00a0requires radical reform and this can only be realistically done from within.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am appealing to voters in the 6 Counties to vote to remain part of the European Union on 23 June.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
