{"id":2880,"date":"2016-11-02T20:41:24","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T20:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/?p=2880"},"modified":"2016-11-02T20:41:24","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T20:41:24","slug":"irish-government-must-urgently-relocate-child-refugees-from-calais-crowe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/irish-government-must-urgently-relocate-child-refugees-from-calais-crowe\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish Government must urgently relocate child refugees from Calais- Crowe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Se\u00e1n Crowe TD, has called on the Government to urgently relocated 200 unaccompanied minors from the Calais camp to Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in the D\u00e1il on a debate on the situation in Calais, Deputy Crowe said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s time for the Government to stop telling people what they can\u2019t do for these vulnerable and desperate unaccompanied children in Calais, and start working on what they can do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIreland is in a unique and opportune position because we have amazing volunteers who have biographical files and built trusting relationships with many of these unaccompanied children in Calais.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are in the perfect position to take a small proportion of these children, at least 200, and to help to reshape and bring hope back into their lives. There is no legal impediment to relocating these children, and there is no shortage of public and political support for it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Government\u2019s excuses are worn out and not credible.
