{"id":337,"date":"2011-12-18T20:34:31","date_gmt":"2011-12-18T20:34:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/thousands-being-wasted-on-unused-building-at-tallaght-hospital\/"},"modified":"2011-12-18T20:34:31","modified_gmt":"2011-12-18T20:34:31","slug":"thousands-being-wasted-on-unused-building-at-tallaght-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/thousands-being-wasted-on-unused-building-at-tallaght-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands being wasted on unused building at Tallaght Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: #2f2f2f; font-size: small;\"><strong>Thousands being wasted on unused building at Tallaght Hospital<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: #2f2f2f; font-size: small;\">Dublin South West  Sinn F\u00e9in TD Se\u00e1n Crowe has described as \u201cscandalous\u201d the tens of  thousands of euro that are being spent annually by Tallaght Hospital on  an unused building that was originally commissioned to provide a breast  cancer service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: #2f2f2f; font-size: small;\">Deputy Crowe said:  \u201cAccording to sources at Tallaght Hospital, \u20ac60,000 is being spent  annually on the Berkley House which was originally commissioned to  provide breast cancer services, but has not been used for its intended  purpose. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: #2f2f2f; font-size: small;\">\u201cConsidering that  Tallaght Hospital\u2019s budget was reduced by \u20ac15 million in 2011 and it is  required to save \u20ac26 million, the money being wasted on Berkley House is  nothing short of scandalous. This\u00a0seems a terrible waste of resources  especially since Tallaght is one of the busiest hospitals in the  country, where staff shortages\u00a0have impacted on patient care in the face  of unsustainable cutbacks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: #2f2f2f; font-size: small;\">\u201cIt is an  unacceptable situation and is something that the Board of Tallaght  Hospital,\u00a0Health Minister, James O\u2019Reilly, TD., and the HSE must address  as a matter of urgency.There appears to any amount of money available  for buildings but little for patients and frontline\u00a0staff under the  current budgeting\u00a0arrangement.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thousands being wasted on unused building at Tallaght Hospital Dublin South West Sinn F\u00e9in TD Se\u00e1n Crowe has described as \u201cscandalous\u201d the tens of thousands of euro that are being spent annually by Tallaght Hospital on an unused building that was originally commissioned to provide a breast cancer service.
