{"id":496,"date":"2012-09-07T09:29:09","date_gmt":"2012-09-07T09:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/government-failing-job-seekers-crowe\/"},"modified":"2012-09-07T09:29:09","modified_gmt":"2012-09-07T09:29:09","slug":"government-failing-job-seekers-crowe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/government-failing-job-seekers-crowe\/","title":{"rendered":"Government  Failing Job Seekers- Crowe"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; color: #222222; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\"><strong><span style=\"line-height: 21px; font-size: 14pt;\">Government\u00a0 Failing Job Seekers- Crowe<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center; color: #222222; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\" align=\"center\"><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #222222; line-height: 19px; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"line-height: 24px; font-size: 12pt;\">Dublin South West TD Se\u00e1n  Crowe has hit out at the Government\u2019s lack of \u00a0job creation schemes and  said that they are failing job seekers after the release of the\u00a0latest  2012 Live Register figures from the CSO.<\/p>\n<p>The figures show that the unemployment rate stands at 14.7%; it was  14.3% when the current Government took office in March 2011 on a  platform that promised the delivery of\u00a0thousands of new jobs.\u00a0 The\u00a0 CSO  figures also highlight that the growth rate of\u00a0 those in long-term  unemployment( those signing on for more than year) has grown by \u00a0to  44.2% all unemployed; it was 40.8% a year ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #222222; line-height: 19px; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"line-height: 24px; font-size: 12pt;\">Deputy Se\u00e1n Crowe said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese  latest\u00a0CSO figures are frankly appalling, and track just how weak this  government has been at creating real\u00a0jobs. On a daily basis they are  failing job seekers and \u00a0failing to deliver any hope for\u00a0those stuck on  the uneployment treadmill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #222222; line-height: 19px; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"line-height: 24px; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cThe  rate of unemployment has risen since the government took office in  March 2011, and it now stands at 14.7%. When one considers the high rate  of emigration we have witnessed during this time, to have an  unemployment rate that is increasing, is a\u00a0disgrace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #222222; line-height: 19px; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"line-height: 24px; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cIn Tallaght\u00a0 the amount  on the live register has increased from 10,589, when the government took  office in March 2011 on a platform of delivering thousands of jobs\u00a0\u00a0to  12,152 in August 2012. The government\u2019s policy of\u00a0 cutting real\u00a0jobs in  the public sector and lack of any success in increasing investment in  the private sector will add more to the \u00a0unemployment figures.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #222222; line-height: 19px; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"line-height: 24px; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cThe government are  increasingly out of touch with the average Irish family struggling under  the austerity measures and high rates of unemployment. In these tough  times job creation needs to be a forefront of the government\u2019s policies  and priorities. To have 44.2% of all unemployed people as long-term  unemployed is unacceptable.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 24px; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cThis government\u2019s lack of  incentive and innovative solutions in creating jobs and reducing  unemployment is a daily\u00a0insult to the people of Ireland.
