Crowe\u00a0said that\u00a0the successful opening of the \u00a0project was down to the persistence, hard work \u00a0and\u00a0an\u00a0initiative of\u00a0South Dublin County Council\u00a0\u00a0Mayor Cathal King.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Deputy Se\u00e1n Crowe TD said:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;The opening of a new permenent home for the Sacred Heart Boxing Club is\u00a0a fantastic news story\u00a0not only\u00a0the club\u00a0and its\u00a0 many members\u00a0but for \u00a0all the\u00a0residents living in Donomore Park area. The building where the \u00a0new premises\u00a0are\u00a0 located was a derelict building for a number of \u00a0years and was constantly attracting anti social elements to the area.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>&#8220;My colleague Mayor Cathal King and I had raised the issue with South Dublin County Council and many other agencies\u00a0on a number of occassions, down through\u00a0\u00a0the years but with no\u00a0real success.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;At one stage it was proposed that the building which was to used as a meeting place for residents\u00a0be knocked down because it had become derlict\u00a0and was attracting troublemakers..<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>&#8220;Mayor King kept looking for a solution and his\u00a0persistence\u00a0did eventually pay off. On his own initiative \u00a0he brought\u00a0 the\u00a0site owners\u00a0\u00a0NABCO\u00a0Voluntary Housing and the Boxing Club together and the rest is\u00a0as they say is\u00a0\u00a0history.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;The opening of the Boxing Club is great news for the\u00a0long established\u00a0Sacred Heart\u00a0Club, thOe host community in Donomore and NABCO the \u00a0Voluntary Housing Association. It ticks all the boxs for the Club, the Housing Association and the many\u00a0residents living\u00a0in the area.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;It will provide a home for the Club and its young members, increase visibility and footfall in the area\u00a0and hopefully will eventually\u00a0lead to a decrease of\u00a0anti social\u00a0behaviour at this isolated corner that faces onto Killinarden Park.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;It is another resource for youth and the community \u00a0in the greater Killinarden\u00a0area.and I want to publicly acknowledge the work of Mayor Cathal King, Tommy Hanrahan of Sacred Heart and Brendan Mac\u00a0Piarais NABCO\u00a0and\u00a0 local resident Jackie Grant.<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Well done to all involved.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Local Sinn F\u00e9in Representative Se\u00e1n Crowe TD attended the opening of the new Sacred Heart Boxing Club in Donomore Park,\u00a0Tallaght this week and wished the club with their new venue,\u00a0even more\u00a0success in the near\u00a0future.
