Dublin broadband enhancement plans welcomed<\/p>\n
\u00a0 Dublin South West Sinn F\u00e9in TD Se\u00e1n Crowe has welcomed the news that
\u00a0 Eircom is to provide enhanced high speed broadband services to homes and
\u00a0 businesses in the greater Dublin area.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 Speaking today Deputy Crowe said, \u201cEircom\u2019s announcement of the
\u00a0 locations of Phase one of their fibre roll-out plan, which will provide
\u00a0 high-speed broadband services to thousands of home in the greater Dublin
\u00a0 area, is very welcome.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u201cIt follows last month\u2019s commitment by Eircom to spend \u20ac100 million on
\u00a0 this phase of the plan which aims to reach one million premises over the
\u00a0 next four years. If everything goes well, by summer 2012 the fibre
\u00a0 roll-out will be available for over 100,000 homes in Dublin and selected
\u00a0 towns and villages throughout the country.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u201cTallaght\u2019s inclusion in Phase one is a major boost for the area. It
\u00a0 will be beneficial in sustaining existing businesses and attract new
\u00a0 companies to south west Dublin.\u00a0 We must have cutting edge technology
\u00a0 and infrastructure if we are serious about attracting high tech
\u00a0 businesses.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u201cThe upgrade of Tallaght\u2019s broadband services can act as an incentive
\u00a0 that will encourage economic investment and help create employment in
