{"id":3250,"date":"2017-09-19T08:38:45","date_gmt":"2017-09-19T08:38:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/?p=3250"},"modified":"2017-09-19T08:38:45","modified_gmt":"2017-09-19T08:38:45","slug":"crowe-welcomes-ibrahim-halawas-acquittal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/crowe-welcomes-ibrahim-halawas-acquittal\/","title":{"rendered":"Crowe welcomes Ibrahim Halawa\u2019s acquittal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dublin South West TD, Se\u00e1n Crowe, has welcomed the news that Ibrahim Halawa has been acquitted of all charges in an Egyptian court.<\/p>\n<p>Crowe, the Sinn F\u00e9in Foreign Affairs spokesperson, said it is imperative that the Irish government now ensure he is allowed return to Dublin as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Se\u00e1n Crowe said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt was very welcome to hear that Ibrahim Halawa, from Firhouse in Dublin 24, has been acquitted of all charges by an Egyptian court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIbrahim was unlawfully and unjustly incarcerated in atrocious conditions in Egypt for 4 years. He was 17 when he was arrested and his trial was agonisingly postponed and delayed for years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has finally been cleared of all these charges, which I and many others had repeatedly stated were unsubstantiated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is now imperative that the Irish government, through our Embassy in Cairo, ensures that Ibrahim is allowed return home to Ireland as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>ENDS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dublin South West TD, Se\u00e1n Crowe, has welcomed the news that Ibrahim Halawa has been acquitted of all charges in an Egyptian court.
