It\u00a0 also confirms what we are being told by many\u00a0businesses that \u00a0banks are simply refusing to give out good loans to companies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">\u201cWhile\u00a0Sinn F\u00e9in\u00a0have supported the\u00a0current\u00a0Government\u2019s proposals on Credit Guarantees and Microenterprises these are inadequate and tinkering around the fundamental market failure of banks to support local enterprise and give value for public investment by Irish taxpayers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">\u201cIt is clear that Irish\u00a0banking policy is being directed by the European Central Bank forcing them massively reduce their debt\u00a0and reducing actual \u00a0investment, despite the fact that the Government is now the major shareholder in\u00a0our banks. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">\u201cIt  is time for the Government to stand up for the Irish interests and direct banking policy to deliver for our businesses and  the hard pressed\u00a0Irish taxpayers that propping these banks\u00a0up to the  tune of billions.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Credit Review Report \u2013 banks not\u00a0lending for business Dublin South West representative Se\u00e1n Crowe TD, speaking\u00a0after the release of a report by the Credit Review Office, said: \u201cThe latest report of the Credit Review Office demonstrates once again that the banks are not working on behalf of\u00a0small and medium\u00a0businesses.
