{"id":5572,"date":"2026-07-13T07:41:52","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T07:41:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/?p=5572"},"modified":"2026-07-13T07:41:52","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T07:41:52","slug":"crowe-welcomes-knocklyon-water-mains-improvements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/crowe-welcomes-knocklyon-water-mains-improvements\/","title":{"rendered":"Crowe welcomes Knocklyon water mains improvements"},"content":{"rendered":"Sinn F\u00e9in TD for Dublin South West Se\u00e1n Crowe has welcomed the announcement today by Irish Water that they will be getting underway with works to replace old and damaged cast iron water mains in Knocklyon, where hundreds of residents have experienced frequent water supply interruptions in recent years. <br \/><br \/>Teachta Crowe said:<br \/><br \/>\u201cI must welcome the announcement today by Irish Water that they are at last going to take steps to upgrade the water infrastructure in Knocklyon where residents are sick and tired of all too frequent water outages, sometimes lasting days. <br \/><br \/>\u201cThe works will specifically be taking place on new, modern pipes on Knocklyon Avenue, Knocklyon Court, Knocklyon Close, Knocklyon Grove, Idrone Avenue and Knocklyon Road and are expected to be complete by the Autumn.<br \/><br \/>\u201cWorks such as these should have been carried out in conjunction with the new residential developments that were built some years ago and which many local residents have suspected as being the cause of the water difficulties. The old cast iron pipes simply weren\u2019t able to cope with the increase in demand and this led to bursts, leaks and outages. <br \/><br \/>\u201cWhile the works are welcome, they cannot take years and years to be identified and fixed.
