{"id":568,"date":"2012-11-22T10:21:51","date_gmt":"2012-11-22T10:21:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/crowe-welcomes-gaza-ceasefire\/"},"modified":"2012-11-22T10:21:51","modified_gmt":"2012-11-22T10:21:51","slug":"crowe-welcomes-gaza-ceasefire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seancrowe.ie\/home\/crowe-welcomes-gaza-ceasefire\/","title":{"rendered":"Crowe welcomes Gaza ceasefire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center; line-height: 150%;\" align=\"center\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%;\">Crowe welcomes Gaza ceasefire<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;\">Sinn F\u00e9in\u2019s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Trade and Diaspora, Se\u00e1n Crowe TD, has welcomed the news that Hamas and Israel have agreed a ceasefire in the current conflict.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;\">Speaking after the ceasefire was announced Deputy Crowe said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;\">\u201cI welcome that a ceasefire has been agreed and there is now a structured end to the brutal violence which has claimed the lives of over 140 Palestinians and 5 Israelis. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;\">\u201cI hope that both sides will respect the ceasefire and commend the Egyptian Government\u00a0on playing a substantial role in brokering the deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;\">\u201cThe emphasis now needs to be focused on ensuring the ceasefire can hold in the long-term, and then on lifting Israel\u2019s illegal blockade of the Gaza strip. This blockade has created enormous socio-economic problems in Gaza, even before this latest bombardment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;\">\u201cThe people of Gaza need to begin to rebuild their lives, their homes, and their neighbourhoods. They need to restock their hospitals and repair Gaza\u2019s vital infrastructure.
