St Aidan’s Community School visit Leinster House

Dublin South West Sinn Féin TD today accompanied teachers and pupils from St Aidan’s Community School in Tallaght on a tour of the Dáil.
Deputy Crowe said: “Today’s visit to the Oireachtas by teachers and third year CSPE students from St Aidan’s Community School included a tour of the building and a visit to the public gallery.

“The trip forms part of the school’s CSPE action project and I would like to commend the staff and pupils for the interest they showed in what was a very enjoyable visit.

“This was an opportunity to find out how the Oireachtas functions and assess the role of Dáil Deputies and Senators when representing people in parliament.

“Increasing greater awareness about our political institutions is very important, especially for young people who should be encouraged to participate in our democratic system. The Dáil is steeped in history and today was an opportunity to learn more about our Nation’s past and the people who played a pivotal role in helping to shape politics on this part of the island.”
