Sinn Féin’s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Seán Crowe TD, has extended his condolences and sympathies to the families and the victims of the brutal attack on civilians in Nice, France.

Deputy Crowe said:

“I was horrified and shocked to hear of the brutal attack on civilians celebrating Bastille Day in Nice.

“It is being reported that 84 people have already died and many more are injured.

“I want to extend my condolences and deepest sympathies to all the victims of this attack and to the families of the injured and deceased.

“I have written to the French Ambassador to formally express Sinn Féin’s condolences and our solidarity with the people of France at this difficult time.

“If anyone is worried about an Irish citizen who may have been in the area where the attack occurred they can contact the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs at 014082000.”
