Sinn Féin’s spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Seán Crowe TD, met with the Chilean Minister for Foreign Affairs in Leinster House today.
Deputy Crowe said:
“I was very happy to meet Mr. Heraldo Muñoz, the Chilean Foreign Affairs Minister, with the Oireachtas Foreign Affairs Committee.
“We had a positive discussion on bilateral relations between Ireland and Chile, as well as other important international issues.
“I commended the Minister on the positive and proactive role that Chile is playing as a guarantor of the Colombian peace negotiations, along with Norway and Cuba, who are directly facilitating the talks process.
“I also raised the current territorial dispute between Bolivia and Chile over access to the Pacific, and pressed the need to ensure that the issue is dealt with peacefully and democratically in order to ensure that the dispute is resolved amicably.”
