Sinn Féin’s Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs, Seán Crowe, has welcomed that a Sinn Féin motion calling on the Government to recognise the State of Palestine has passed through the Dáil unopposed with support of all parties and independents.

Deputy Seán Crowe said:

“The Government recognised that the progressive Sinn Féin motion was a positive contribution and well worded.

“Both Houses of the Oireachtas have now passed motions calling on the Government to recognise Palestine.

“I hope that this motion will be seen by all parties in the region as a genuine effort to contribute to peace and towards an inclusive process that will lead to self-determination for the Palestinian people.”
