Right2Water demo an opportunity to say No More

Dublin South West TD Seán Crowe has said that next Saturday’s Right2Water demonstration is another opportunity to tell the Government and its TDs that their time in government is coming to an end and that tax payers have had enough

Crowe called on families and individuals right across Dublin to come out in their droves for Saturday’s Right2Water demonstration.

Deputy Seán Crowe said;

“Minister Alan Kelly wants people to believe that the water issue has disappeared or somehow gone away. He is wrong once again and the water charges and Irish Water are firmly on many voters’ minds as we approach the next election. I am urging people from every community, right across Dublin to come out again in support of the Right2Water demonstration this coming Saturday.

“Despite many national and local protests, over the last couple of years, the Government has tried to ignore the overwhelming public opposition to Water Charges and Irish Water. They have tried to airbrush from reality the anger of the people and this demonstration will provide another opportunity to mobilise against the charges.

“The imposition of these charges was the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back. It’s a tax too far and Sinn Féin in government will see it scrapped.

“The establishment of Irish Water and the imposition of water charges has been a debacle from day one. The ink wasn’t dry on Irish Water and the bonuses were being dished out. Scandal has followed scandal.

“The right to water is one of the most basic of human rights we need to stop its privatisation.

“I would urge people get up and get out on Saturday at 2pm and meet at Christchurch in Dublin.”
