Sinn Féin TD for Dublin South West Seán Crowe has criticised the incoming government for having lost perspective and being more concerned with pretending Michael Lowry is not in government and taking a two week holiday rather than solving the crises in health and housing that the people demanded be fixed during the election.

Teachta Crowe said:

“2025 has started much as 2024 ended. House prices are spiralling and thousands of people have had to endure lying on a hospital trolley. The CSO report that house prices rose by 9.6% in Dublin in the 12 months to November and almost 10,000 people have been recorded as being on a trolley in our hospitals since 1 January.

“Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have lost all sense of perspective. Instead of getting down to the business of fixing these crises, which they had a very real hand in creating, they decided instead to pick a fight about Michael Lowry being in government and opposition at the same time.

“The incoming government needs to get real and stop playing stroke politics. The people need solutions in health and housing. We cannot afford house prices that rise 10% year on year. We cannot allow 10,000 people a month to languish on trolleys when they need medical care.”
