Sinn Féin TD for Dublin South West Seán Crowe has said that recent comments from Government Ministers have shown just how shockingly out of touch this Government is with the realities facing Irish families when it comes to paying bills and the real cost of living.
Teachta Crowe said:
“Across the state, ordinary workers and their families are at their wits end facing huge financial pressure to pay their day to day, weekly and monthly bills. Rent, childcare costs, groceries, energy bills, and fuel have all sky rocketed and pay packets not being able to keep up with rising costs.
“The government should be should be pulling out all stops to address this growing crisis but that’s not what’s happening. Between Seán Fleming thinking that shopping around will solve the cost of living problems for families and Leo Varadkar saying that maybe employers could just pay their workers more, we can see just how shockingly out of touch this Government is with the awful realities facing Irish workers and families.
“There is a pattern of inaction from this government on bread and butter issues and I can’t see that changing any time soon if they don’t even try to understand the basics.
“Sinn Féin in government would put ordinary workers and families first and seriously tackle the cost of living crisis.”
